Principals Message

Family and Friends of Desert Adventist Academy:

Excitedly, I write this letter as the new Principal of DAA.  My name is Eugene Bartlett.  My wife, Sandy, and I eagerly await the opportunity to serve you and your children as we, the community, strive to create the best version of DAA we have yet seen.

Allow me to introduce myself.  Sandy and I feel the aches of empty-nesters as our last of three children has recently graduated college.  All three of our children attended DAA for elementary school.  My career for over thirty years has been dedicated to the Seventh-day Adventist church in pastoral ministry and education.  Other hats I have been known to wear are class sponsor, coach, and chaplain.  As a Youth Pastor, I gained valuable experience from the planning of mission trips, summer camps, Weeks of Prayer, children’s church and many other activities and programs.

I am thrilled and humbled by the responsibility that goes with this position, namely, the care and development of your children.  No one loves and cherishes your child more than you.  We desire to partner with you through these crucial years of your child’s development.  This is as much your school as it is ours.

We are ecstatic for a new school year and equally excited to meet you in person.

As for school business, the school, church, and community leadership keenly sense a need for a twelve grade academy here in the desert.  We are currently working with the conference Office of Education to begin with a ninth grade program as soon as possible.  I will keep you informed as we move forward.

Our hope is to start the ninth grade program for the 2015/2016 school year.  Your prayers and continued support are much appreciated.

I wish you blessings and safety for the rest of the summer,

Eugene Bartlett
